ENDING & CONVERSION
Ending & Conversion: Close the Loop
The ending is where you earn the follow, the comment, the save, or the click.
If you don’t close the loop, the viewer gets value but has no clear next step — so they scroll.
This section is about building endings that:
- deliver the payoff (value)
- complete the story (close the loop)
- guide the viewer to an action (CTA)
What “Closing the Loop” Actually Means
Closing the loop is simply finishing the thought you opened at the beginning.
If your hook creates a question, tension, or promise — your ending should answer it clearly.
Common loops to close:
- Promise loop: “In this video I’ll show you…” → show it + recap it
- Curiosity loop: “Most people do this wrong…” → reveal the mistake + what to do instead
- Story loop: “This happened to me…” → what you learned + the takeaway
Why People Follow & Comment (The Real Reason)
People follow and comment when they feel one (or more) of these:
- They got a win: the video gave them a clear takeaway they can use
- They felt seen: you named a problem they relate to
- They trust you: your ending proves you can guide them to results
- They have something to add: you asked a specific, easy-to-answer question
Ending Framework:
My fool-proof formula for endings that get the viewer hooked, is following this process through the steps below:
payoff → deeper reframe → second hook → CTA
1. Deliver the obvious takeaway
2. Reveal the deeper meaning of it
3. Turn that meaning into a final hook
4. Then tell them exactly what to do next
CTA Ideas That Actually Convert
Pick the CTA based on the goal of the video:
- Growth: “Follow for more edits like this”
- Engagement: “Comment ‘template’ and I’ll send it” / “Which one are you guilty of?”
- Saves: “Save this so you can use it next time you edit”
- Clicks: “The full checklist is in my bio”
A strong CTA is:
- specific
- relevant to what they just watched
- aligned with the value you delivered
Quick Checklist (Before You Post)
- Did I actually deliver the payoff I promised?
- Did I tie the ending back to the hook (loop closed)?
- Did I make the next step obvious (one CTA)?
- Did I give them a reason to comment (a clear prompt)?
